Dillsy Heads home to Australia

Hey guys,

I've been home in Australia for a week now and I'm lovin' it. Riding every day and sweating like crazy ha ha. I'm heading to a king of dirt comp this weekend just by my house, gonna hang out with some mates and just chill. I'm definitely not ready for a comp and I'm not even gonna try to ride, but it will be good to catch up with some blokes. Here is a pic of me from the weekend in Beenleigh. It was very hot this day, hence the shorts and no shirt. Hope everyone has a happy Holiday and I'll hit you guys up soon!

GT BMX Race Team Visits Local Bike Shop

GT BMX race team riders Joey Bradford and Eric Rupe made a shop visit this week to Retro City Cycles in Orlando, FL. Shop manager Dano was happy to have the guys stop in to say hi, sign autographs, hand out stickers and just hang out. The shop isn’t much of a BMX race shop, but that just gave the team the opportunity to bring Dano up to speed on what the BMX world up to these days. Rupe had his personal race bike on hand to show off and let people see just how cool the 2009 line of GT race bikes are. The visit was a real success, as the team looks forward to visiting more GT dealers as the season goes on. Thanks Dano and Jessica G.

The GT team sponsors include: Kenda, Shimano, Fly Racing, Sun Rims, SDG, Champion System, O’GIO, SNAP Products.

BMX Race Team Rocks The Block Shop

The GT BMX race team—Randy Stumpfhauser, Mike Day, and Eric Rupe--was in the Lancaster, CA this week for the ABA So Cal Nationals and paid a visit today to The Block Shop. The shop visit was the best visit so far in 2008, as Rich Bartlett, the shop owner and manager for over 5 years, showed the GT guys what a truly pro looking BMX shop is all about. The GT guys had a chance to meet a lot of customers who showed up for the widely publicized GT Promo. Rich had the event promo’d all week on the local alternative rock station “100.1 The Edge”. The multiple promo spots during the week, announced the visit of Eric, Randy and Mike, brought quite a few listeners out to meet the pros. The station had a live feed right from the shop from 3pm til 6pm. Eric, Randy and Mike all did live interviews with “Fat Head” the DJ that went really well. Both the shop and GT got really good plugs from the radio spots.

Both Mike and Randy also did news paper interviews as well. The GT guys gave the fans autographed team posters, some GT stickers and GT bike catalogs. Stumpfhauser, Day, and Rupe even had their personal race bikes on hand to show off to the fans. The visit was a total success. Thanks Rich!

Dill$y Hits Interbike and Nora Cup

G'day people!

Was a busy week for me. I headed to Vegas for Interbike and Nora Cup.
Was real fun. I was stoked because End Search won Video of the Year.
It was the first year Nora Cup had that award, so it was awesome to be a
part of that. I checked out the new GT line, and it was looking tip
top! I heard a lot of good things about it too.

Right now I'm in Cali. Two of my friends passed away in a plane crash a
week ago, so I'm out here for their funeral.

04/15/2008
Madison, WI
reposted from www.gtbicycles.com

GT Bicycles is set to launched a unique mountain bike-focused demo program at the Sea Otter Classic in Monterey, CA. The GT Bicycles Experience will visit bike shops and mountain bike festivals nationwide, providing an outlet for enthusiasts and shop employees to demo the latest GT bikes, learn about the product technology and above all, enjoy a true VIP cycling experience.

“A great ride starts with the right bike, but it doesn’t end there,” said Jenni Schwai, Director of Marketing for GT Bicycles. “Whether you want a cup of freshly made coffee before a morning ride, a set of lights to borrow for a 24-hour race or a trainer to use for a pre-race warm-up -- we’ve got you covered.”

Celebrating its 20th year of building championship-winning mountain bikes, GT Bicycles has long been recognized for race-proven technologies, such as its trademark Triple Triangle design and patented Independent Drivetrain (ID) suspension technology. GT introduced a pair of 6” all-mountain bikes this year -- the Sanction 1.0 and Force 1.0 – both of which are available to test through the GT Bicycles Experience demo program. The fleet also includes the lightweight 4” cross country Marathon Pro, the iconic Zaskar hardtail and the women’s specific GTw Marathon 2.0.

As part of the GT Bicycles Experience, riders can:

  • Try CrankBrothers’ easy-to-use clipless pedals
  • Demo the new CycleOps PowerTap disc wheels
  • Warm up on a CycleOps fluid trainer
  • Sample Jelly Belly Sport Beans
  • Check out NiteRider light sets
  • Use Park Tools to dial in their bikes
  • Ride Kenda’s latest tires
  • Check out Saris’ easy-to-use 3-bike Thelma hitch rack
  • Demo the helmets and body armor
